From 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, stop by the Arizona Humanities Council for a free reading and signing of Fighting for Our Place in the Sun: Malcolm X and the Radicalization of the Black Student Movement, 1960-1973 by Dr. Richard Benson II. The monthly community meet-up, RadiatePHX, returns from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, at Orpheum Theatre.The event will feature guests talks by Phoenix City Councilman Michael Nowakowski, Phoenix Convention Center’s John Chan, and Downtown Phoenix, Inc.’s David Krietor. Adding to the occasional will be carolers and jazz ensembles from The Nash and Arizona School for the Arts as well as food and drink provided by Aventura Catering.
