It’s time to get interactive with your theater-going experience and fall into the wild and wacky world of Shear Madness. The part improv, part stand-up, and part scripted show challenges audience members to help solve the murder of a Phoenix landlady who owns the building in which a present day Phoenix salon runs.
Starring local favorites like Elizabeth Brownlee, Gene Ganssle, and Mark Jacobson, the production is as much about the actors as it is about crowd participation. Now in it’s 35th year, the play holds the Guinness World Record for longest running play in American theater. Keeping it fresh, topical, and mostly new every night, including how it all ends, is how this show gets people coming back for more — even after three decades.
Shear Madness will be performed at the Phoenix Theatre, 100 East McDowell Road, on Thursday, November 6, at 8 p.m. and it runs until Sunday, November 23. Tickets ($30 to $70), along with a full schedule of performances, are available online at www.phoenixtheatre.com or by calling 602-254-2151.
