People fear change, especially when its something they’ve really grown to love. NASCAR driver Tony Stewart, for instance, disapproved of the recently completed $10 million renovation of Phoenix International Raceway and wasn’t afraid to talk about it.

Last fall, the renowned speedster publicly aired his disappointment at a number of changes that have been made to PIR’s one-mile track, including adding angled banks and reconfiguring turns.

Unsurprisingly, Stewart won’t be present for the transformed track’s public debut during the Sprint Cup Series Testing Session on Tuesday, October 4, at 7602 South Avondale Boulevard in Avondale. Other NASCAR superstars will be on hand to see how their souped-up racecars handle all the changes, including Kyle Busch. Prizes, giveaways, and special Q&A sessions with the drivers are also planned.
