Last year, The Clarendon Hotel was transformed into a temporary art installation, thanks to the debut of Artel Phx, a project that brings together the creativity of local artists with the hospitality of local business.

As Artel Phx preps for a spring exhibition, event organizers are looking for new artists to display and perform works at the boutique hotel.

Artel Phx has put out a call to artists for its upcoming show, which runs Thursday, May 15, through Saturday, May 17. The pop-up art exhibition is looking for more than 20 artists to place site-specific installations throughout the hotel, including its exterior, lobby, pool, roof, and guest rooms.

Installations can involve everything from music and live performances to traditional media and video displays. Artists will be chosen based design innovation and are highly encouraged to research the hotel ahead of time in order to find the space that best fits their idea.

To apply, artists must submit up to two detailed proposals, project illustrations, a brief bio or resume, contact information, and a signed copy of Artel Phx’s Rules & Permissions.

Applications can be e-mailed to artelphx@gmail.com or mailed to Tara Sharpe of ARTELPHX at the Clarendon Hotel and Spa. If chosen, artists are responsible to funding and installing their own works. Deadline for all submissions is March 31.
