Phoenix is a pretty awesome place. Sure, we get flak for our politics and the scorching heat, but the Valley of the Sun is a hotbed of culture, food, and art. Don’t believe us? Just browse through this year’s Best of Phoenix issue for a taste of what the Valley has to offer.

Naturally, we’re biased, but you could spend weeks scoping out the city’s nightlife hotspots, top restaurants, and best hiking trails. It can take a bit of digging to find the best of the best, but the 15th Annual Best of Phoenix A’Fare will celebrate just that. The shindig goes down at Burton Barr Library and showcases 30 local restaurants, nine bars, and a bevy of live music.

Indulge in Phoenix culture at 8 p.m. Saturday, October 4, at Burton Barr Library, 1221 North Central Avenue. Tickets to the 21-and-over event start at $40 via www.ticketfly.com, and cocktail attire is required. Visit microapp.phoenixnewtimes.com/afare/2014.
