Comedian Charlie Murphy will forever be remembered as the man whose “Charlie Murphy’s True Hollywood Stories” sketch on Chappelle’s Show colored the world with that immortal catchphrase, “I’m Rick James, bitch!” It seemed damn near impossible, back in 2004, to avoid hearing one of your co-workers or friends spout the phrase at least 10 times a day, but we won’t hold it against Murphy. Unlike Charlie’s more rabid followers, Eddie Murphy’s big bro has moved on, and his résumé now includes such out-of-the-box entries as the Adult Swim series The Boondocks, the spanking-new sketch-comedy series Charlie Murphy’s Crash Comedy (with fellow Chappelle Show alum Donnell Rawlings) on Sony’s WebTV network Crackle, and some inspired/oddball voiceover work, including the pimp Jizzy-B in the video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Mr. Spock on G4TV’s Star Trek 2.0, and, of course, the dog in brother Eddie’s 2007 flick Norbit. Eddie and Charlie are collaborating again on Beverly Hills Cop IV, tentatively scheduled for a 2010 release.
