All right you primitive screwheads, listen up: Bruce Campbell is coming to Phoenix Comicon in 2014. Organizers of the four-day celebration of science-fiction, pop culture, authors, and comic books announced this morning that the popular cult film actor is the first special guest for next year’s event.

And the funny thing is, Campbell fits into all of those particular categories since he’s starred in many beloved sci-fi/fantasy/horror flicks (most notably the Evil Dead series) and television shows (Xena: Warrior Princess and The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.), made dozens of memorable cameos, authored a few best-selling books (If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor and Make Love! The Bruce Campbell Way), and served as a comic book scribe a couple times.
Oh, and he’ll forever be known as famed deadite killer and boomstick-wielder Ash, the utterer of such oft-quotable soundbites as “Hail to the king, baby.”

We’re guessing that a few thousand Phoenix Comicon attendees will want to get an audience with the king when he appears on Saturday, June 7, and Sunday, June 8. One local geek named David Ross probably summed up reaction to the announcement best when he simply stated “Nerdgasm” on Facebook.
By the way, tickets are already on sale for Phoenix Comicon 2014 and currently cost $10 to $30 for single-day admission and $40 for the whole weekend.
Phoenix Comicon 2014 will take place from Thursday, June 5, to Sunday, June 8, at the Phoenix Convention Center.
