Americans seem to have an increasing fondness for Brazil’s finer things. Think soccer, empanadas, a perfectly blow-dried mane, and, of course, hairless hoo-has. Our most recent cultural craving? Samba.
Grupo Liberdade and Capoeira Brasil AZ bring together Brazilian music, food, and culture for Friday’s Carnaval AZ 2012. The energetic and vibrant event features live music from several Brazilian bands, musicians, a sexy samba dance performance, traditional food by Val’s Brasilian Cuisine, and drink specials. The night also features the reunion of Arizona’s founding Batucada DJs. Costumes are encouraged –there will be prizes — and dancing, preferably rooted in Rio, is a must.
