We may not have frosted windowpanes or sleigh rides, but, on upside of Phoenix’s joyous 70-degree winters, we do have great weather for barhopping. This holiday season the Downtown Phoenix Partnership has pitted some of the area’s bars and restaurants against each other in a six-week holiday cocktail competition that makes for a perfect self-guided walking tour.

Spirits of the Season challenges downtown booze hounds to visit the 15-plus participating venues to sample each concoction in the running to become the Most Spirited Holiday Cocktail of 2012. Sip on Santa’s Bellini at District American Kitchen and Wine Bar, 320 North Third Street, or a Fiery Night Martini, a mixture of Fireball and Johnny Walker with a sugared rim of crushed Red Hots at Majerle’s Sports Bar and Grill, 24 North Second Street.

For the complete list of participating venues, their cocktail creations, and voting info, visit www.downtownphoenix.com/spirits. Drinks range in price from $6.50 to $10. Voting closes on Thursday, December 20, but you can still sip up at all locations through Monday, December 31.
