Mother Nature must have a serious grudge against Steve LeVine. Especially considering that she brought a torrential thunderstorm that utterly drenched the local nightlife promoter’s big-time Sound Wave Festival last April, resulting in smaller-than-expected crowds.

Let’s hope that LeVine’s made amends with said cosmic deity over the past six months, in order to avoid another meteorological malfunction during the upcoming incarnation of the outdoor electronic music extravaganza on Friday at Big Surf in Tempe. Bring an umbrella, just in case.

Blockbuster mixmaster Kaskade (who recently was voted best beatmaker in the nation by the readers of DJ Mag) will headline the event along with local legend Z-Trip, Denver duo Manufactured Superstars, and Australia’s Dirty South. Meanwhile, artists including Savoy, Trolley Snatcha, and Sluggo will also perform.
