One new idea for every day in 2011. We’re talking big, small, local, international, in action and on the drawing board. Here’s today’s — what’s yours?

When Catlanta, an Atlanta-based street artist makes a drop of his latest magnetic cat creation, he sparks a citywide hunt.

“Happy Record Store Day,” he wrote from the Catlanta Twitter account yesterday, with a picture of his latest hidden cat. “Get hunting.”

And his fans do. He has a big online following — both local and national — of collectors and fans of a good hunt, who post pictures of their findings and questions about Catlanta’s real identity.

His magnetic works are new, but his name and symbol have been around the Atlanta area for years. He writes that his goal is simply to get people outside and looking around at their own city.
