Many of Christine Sandifur’s monoprints on display through Sunday, January 4, in the Herberger Theater Gallery look like Persian rugs. Other’s have an abstract Picasso-like appearance. Still many more are reminiscent of trippy 1960s acid blotter. Whatever the prints in the “Chasing Patterns” exhibit look like to you, this colorful collage of artwork is the perfect hangover cure for New Year’s Day. In some cases, the viewer will need to dig deep to decipher the hidden meanings among the repeating patterns of Joyful Noise or Lazy Afternoon, while the colorful mosaics of Middle Earth and Maze are much more obvious.
