When we think about fashion, we see a glamorous disguise for a super-evil media machine that manipulates us into thinking we’re inadequate pieces of poo-poo. That way, we’ll rush out and spend hundreds of dollars on the latest pair of boots to feel better.
But this isn’t always true. Fashion can do good things. For proof, check out the “Fashionably Pink” runway show on Thursday, October 1, benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure Phoenix. And that’s just one little part of Phoenix Fashion Week, a three-day blowout, continuing through Saturday, October 3, that features every type of fashion event you could think of, ranging from boutique appointments and education to fashion shows and raging after-parties. Also be sure to check out the cool runway shows featuring emerging and established local, national, and international designers such as Li Cari, Jazmin Whitley, Seven Diamonds, and Kiss the Girls.
