Sometimes it takes more than two to tango.
That’s where Fifth Row Dance Studios comes in. General classes range from hip-hop to contemporary courtesy of instructors like Liliana Gomez and Angelina Ramirez, who performs with Flamenco Por La Vida around the Valley. With a rotating variety of workshops it’s safe to say the studio is a go-to for dance 101 and beyond.
“Tango” means “touch” in Latin, and anyone who’s ever seen this partner dance performed knows how sensual that touch can be. The art form, which originated in lower-class areas of Buenos Aires and Montevideo, quickly transcended to the ballrooms of Europe and America where it became the dramatic dance as we know it.
Learn to tango during Tango Date Night from 8 to 10 p.m. Friday, June 27, at 513 East Roosevelt Street. Class cost is $6. Visit www.5throwdancestudios.com or call 602-456-1422 to sign up.
