Some pretentious art critics think digital photography’s a con — that with the right software, you can turn a blurry snapshot of your ugly Aunt Sally into a computerized equivalent of the Mona Lisa. Yeah, the equipment matters, but as women all know, it’s talent, instruction, and a lot of practice that really count.
Catch works by 35 introductory and intermediate digital-photography students at Mesa Community College’s Digital Art Exhibit. Artists include Corinne Geersten, Abel Ramiriz, and Danielle Pajak, who merged pencil drawings with photographs of her family in costume to create a visual fairy tale.
Mondays-Thursdays, 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Starts: July 10. Continues through Sept. 15, 2008
