Since the Diamondbacks are the only summer game in town, there’s no fallback plan if the season goes awry. That’s the tough thing about being a baseball fan in Phoenix.

Thankfully, when the MLB-sponsored Arizona Fall League Baseball – comprised of promising minor-league players — opens its season on Tuesday, October 13, you’ll have plenty of options on the table. At 12:35 p.m., you can check out the Phoenix Devil Dogs and Mesa Solar Sox duking it out at Phoenix Municipal Stadium, 5999 East Van Buren Street, or watch the Surprise Rafters and Peoria Javelinas do battle at Peoria Sports Complex, 16101 North 83rd Avenue. If you prefer to make an evening or doubleheader of it, there’ll also be a 6:35 contest between the Scottsdale Scorpions and Peoria Saguaros at Scottsdale Stadium, 7408 East Osborn Road.
