The folks at Art Intersection are being less sneaky than you might imagine by calling Saturday, February 1’s event PhotoTapas. Spoiler alert: There will absolutely be food (sangria, too). But that probably won’t be the most compelling part of the day.
The Gilbert art space’s gathering sets out to flip the idea of tapas, which is a Spanish style of eating many different dishes in snack-size portions, and put the focus on sampling photography forms instead of small eats. PhotoTapas is a full day of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on experiments from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 207 North Gilbert Road, suite 201. Topics to be covered include print conservation, platinum printing methodology, and how to use a pinhole camera.
Registration is $65 for the public or $50 for members and can be completed via www.artintersection.com or by calling 480-361-1118.
