Welcome to the Morning Buzz, a catch-up on interesting happenings around the city and country and a quick guide to what (and who) to keep your eyes on. We’ll be here, first thing every weekday, to get you going. Here’s what’s buzzing this morning:

When news happens, Phoenix New Times is there —
Your support strengthens our coverage.

We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If New Times matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.

$30,000

1. “for remorse” by Eric CoxYou have until 10 p.m. tonight to nab an original by Eric Cox. The local painter kicked off the Facebook auction for his painting, “for remorse”, on Monday, and he’ll take bids until tonight. The painting is 17.5-by-12 inches and is oil, resin, wax pencil, spray paint, on wood. Check out the auction action here

2. How to Lead a Creative LifeWe’ll admit — we’re suckers for a good flowchart. This morning, we couldn’t keep our eyes off of Fast Company’s “complete guide to making your inner genius your greatest on-the-job asset,” designed by Jason Feifer. Check out the full version here
3. Time is Nothing by Kien LamKien Lam quit his day job last year, and armed with a camera and a good sense of humor, he traveled to 17 countries in 343 days. About 6237 pictures later, he strung together a few of his favorites to the tune of “Places and Faces” by William Lam. The timelapse is below:
