Fitting: An art space named for the part of the brain responsible for attention, planning, and motivation hosts a science-based gallery show.
“Pseudo Science” opens at Frontal Lobe Gallery, featuring mixed media and performance art that reflects or gives artists’ inperpretations of scientific exploration, though not necessarily true-to-life scientific depictions. Artists include Christopher Caulfield, Steve Gompf, and Monica Aissa Martinez, and Babs A’Delic performs “Below Knees Sandwich” live at 8:30 p.m.
The show is in conjunction with the Arizona SciTech Festival. Held between February and March and partly sponsored by the Arizona Science Center, the festival celebrates and encourages interest in mathematics, engineering, and technology through tours, workshops, and more than 400 expos statewide.
The gallery opens at 6 p.m. Friday, February 7, at the Frontal Lobe Community Space and Gallery, 1301 West Grand Avenue. Open to the public on First and Third Friday, with various hours through Friday, February 21. Visit www.facebook.com/events/654565534605550.
