Jon Scieszka, the first National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature, wrote the first episode of a children’s book and passed it on to a group of well-known writers and illustrators who are each responsible for continuing the story and passing it on.
Scieszka’s continuing project is based on the Exquisite Corpse — the old game of writing a sentence or phrase on a sheet of paper, folding it over (concealing only part of the phrase), passing it on, and having the next person in line do the same until the last person finishes the story and reads the entire sheet aloud.
