What does this year’s Tempe Guitar Show have that last year’s didn’t? Juice and jams.
“The event’s in a parking lot, so it’s tough to get electricity to all the exhibitors,” says event coordinator Orin Portnoy. “But this year, more than half will have it, so folks can try out the gear. We’ve also got some live bands to make it more festive.”
In its second year, the event will feature more than 25 exhibitors brandishing guitars, amps, drums, and other musical merchandise to experienced ax wielders and future riff masters alike.
“Fender is always interesting,” says Portnoy on this year’s must-sees, “But I’d also recommend Modkitsdiy.com for those interested in building their own pedals and guitar amps, the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery, and Porter Pickups for the more experienced guitar player.”
