There’s cycling love, and then there’s two-wheeler obsession: bike-inspired art and clothing fall into the former category, with bike porn (yikes) firmly positioned in the latter. Tour De Fat’s imploring participants to ditch their gas-guzzling cars and commit to a bicycle commuter lifestyle? We’d say that falls somewhere in the middle.
The annual fest unites the disparate hipster, steam-punker, hippie, and bro to form an eclectic group with a shared love of bikes and New Belgium beer. Bicycle-themed festivities include a bizarre bike parade, plus live music, games, and an interactive performance. Attendees are encouraged to bike to the event and costumes are equally welcomed.
