1. Tonight: The Visual Language of Herbert Matter Attention design fans, AIGA is hosting The Visual Language of Herbert Matterat FilmBar at 7 p.m.. The 2010 documentary follows Swiss graphic designer Herbert Matter, the Mid-century modern master who shaped a generation of designers by bridging fine arts and applied arts, bringing photography into design. 2. Photographs turned (semi)permanent If you love your photo taking app enough to see it on your skin for a while, iPhone app MoPho might have just the solution. Through the app, you can take or upload photos from your library, which can then be printed in sets of 16 customizable photo tattoos for $14 a pop. Ephemera at its finest. Check out the app here.
3. Just a Game of Marbles A ‘Blue Marble’ image of the Earth was created by NASA’s recently launched satellite Suomi NPP, which observes Earth’s surface and will hopefully observe and record its changes. The image was taken by the satellite’s Visible/Infrared Imager Radiometer Suite or VIIRS camera. Check out the full image here.
