The east coast meets Arizona and ecology meets art as acclaimed painter Judith Kruger exhibits her work in downtown Phoenix’s warehouse district. As an American specializing in Nihonga, traditional Japanese painting, Kruger has harnessed a craft that is not inherently her own. What is inherent, however, is her connection to nature. As an outsider in all senses of the word, Kruger chooses to create her abstract works using pigments derived from natural ingredients. Through her unique perspective, Kruger creates a dual dynamic of “Outside In,” of nature and man, of something unfamiliar yet deeply connected.
Kruger’s “Outside In” exhibition will be on view through Friday, October 31, at Bentley Gallery, 215 East Grant Street. This solo show is Kruger’s first in Arizona. Visit www.bentleygallery.com or call 480-946-6060.
Tuesdays-Saturdays, 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Starts: Oct. 2. Continues through Oct. 31, 2014
