The last time ASU Football played in town on October 3, the Sun Devils experienced anything but home cooking. From start to finish, the Oregon State Beavers, who came in with a 2-2 mark and hadn’t won in Tempe since 1969, handled the Devils. The mature response from the maroon-and-gold-clad crowd included consistent booing.
This weekend, another Pac-10 team with a non-intimidating record, the 3-3 Washington Huskies, visits Sun Devil Stadium. This game is just as dangerous as the Oregon State contest, thanks to UW’s do-everything quarterback Jake Locker. Not only has dude led a resurgence in Seattle (the Huskies were 0-12 last season), but he also engineered a win earlier this season against the mighty USC Trojans.
Come out and cheer on the Devils when they take on UW – or boo if you get off on piling on a bunch of 18- to 22-year-olds – beginning at 7:15 p.m.
