Snow days sound pretty awesome, and not just because work and school are closed for the day. It’s a foreign concept to us desert dwellers, but some folks are lucky enough to sleep in and curl up with some hot cocoa if the weather is too nasty. Too bad we don’t get hot days in the summer, eh? Relaxation is only half of the benefit — the real fun comes from playing in the snow. Arizona Science Center acknowledges our impossibility of a white Christmas with Snow Week, as Heritage and Science Park turn into a winter wonderland, thanks to 30 tons of real snow and lots of holiday cheer. The festivities include ice sculptures, an IMAX penguin movie, and whole days dedicated to candy, gingerbread houses, and snowball fights.

Let it snow on Thursday, December 26 at 10 a.m. at Heritage and Science Park, 600 East Washington Street. Call 602-716-2000 or visit www.azscience.org.
