The Pac-12 women’s soccer desert rivalry continues when the University of Arizona travels north to Tempe for an afternoon game against ASU’s soccer team. Both teams sport near identical conference records, with Arizona holding a slight overall edge. A win would move ASU past the in-state foe, but still would leave the team in the middle of the pack. It’s also the final conference match before the NCAA playoffs begin. How can ASU get that season ending victory and go out on a high note? Strong play from the midfield should keep the pressure on Arizona — as long as this trio turns up the intensity and pushes the ball forward to dazzling forward and scoring leader Cali Farquharson. Anchoring the defense is the orange-cleated McKenzie Berryhill, whose sweeping play keeps opponents on edge, while recently-named Pac-12 goalkeeper of the week Chandler Morris keeps Arizona off the scoreboard.
