So it turns out that Brittney Griner is pretty good. The top pick in the WNBA draft is putting up some impressive numbers in her rookie season for the Phoenix Mercury, building an overwhelming case for rookie of the year honors along the way. But as far as Sunday afternoon’s game is concerned, the only number that matters is 10. That’s how many consecutive wins the visiting Minnesota Lynx have over the Mercury dating back to 2011. The last showdown between the two elite clubs was particularly forgettable for the Mercury, as Minnesota dealt them their worst loss of the season, shutting down league leading scorer Diana Taurasi in the process.
