One of the many perks of living in a desert wasteland is that you’re never more than a short drive away from critter-infested quietude beneath a breathtaking canopy of stars. For city folk who would prefer to scratch their celestial itch without venturing into the wild, Arizona State University’s New College Of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences hosts it’s annual Astronomy Open House at ASU West.
From 7:30 to 9:30 pm, the Glendale campus facilities will open to the general public for an evening of serious stargazing. If the college’s telescopes weren’t enticing enough, the Phoenix Astronomical Society will also be lending some of theirs to the free event, ensuring that no eager eye is left naked. And with faculty members on hand to assist aspiring stargazers in becoming adequately starstruck, the event should be nothing short of astronomical.
