Get those green thumbs ready, Phoenix: the Desert Botanical Garden hosts the spring edition of its bi-annual plant sale this weekend.
The one-stop-shop offers an array of all things garden variety, from trees and shrubbery to cacti and agave. In addition to the hundreds of plants offered — many of which are native to Arizona — gardeners of all skill sets can pick up potting accessories and tools. Trained horticulturalists will be on-hand to offer advice about what will flourish in the backyard right now and what can survive the impending heat of yet another sweltering summer.
A special members-only preview day runs from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, March 14. The sale is open to the general public from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 15, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 16, at Desert Botanical Garden, 1201 North Galvin Parkway. Admission is free. Visit www.dbg.org or call 480-941-1225.
Sat., March 15, 7 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sun., March 16, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., 2014
