Ladies and gentleman, it’s about to get spicy on Roosevelt Row. That’s because the third annual Chile Pepper Fest is hitting the Downtown Phoenix Public Market lot, bringing 24 different spicy dishes from some of Phoenix’s best local chefs.

Although the event features a pepper market and a talent show, the real reason to hit up this kicked up festival is to taste all of the dishes competing in the chile pepper challenge. Chefs from Welcome Diner, Gadzooks, Jobot, Ollie Vaughns, and more will compete for best pepper dish. If it all gets too hot for you, you can ease the burn with 3 Amigos margaritas and beer from Deschutes Brewing Co.

Roosevelt Row’s Chile Pepper Festival kicks off at 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, and goes until 11 p.m. The event is free to attend, though you have to buy tasting tickets ($2 each or 12 for $20) if you want to try out all of the hellishly hot dishes in the competition. For tickets and more information about the event, you can visit www.chilepepperfest.com.
