Three years ago, Carlos Gonzalez was one of the most prized prospects in the Arizona Diamondbacks’ farm system. Today, the 25-year-old outfielder is one of the few true five-tool players in baseball. He leads his team in batting average, slugging percentage, runs scored, runs batted in, home runs, and stolen bases.

There’s just one problem: he’s doing all of this for the wrong team. (The D-Backs traded Gonzalez in 2007 to net now-bye-bye-from-AZ pitcher Dan Haren.)

You can see for yourself what a great player Gonzalez has become when his Colorado Rockies come to Chase Field. While reality isn’t exactly pleasant for Diamondbacks’ fans, today’s game should give everyone in attendance an exciting glimpse of what might have been.
