The flood of tweets, Instagrams, and twonks when people go out make us long for the age when nightlife was on the QT and cool clubs required sly patrons to drop a password at the door. The Pop-Up Speakeasy: A Return to Cattleman’s Bar takes a stroll into the Prohibition Era on Thursday, June 26.

This swanky throwback night bundles in hors d’oeuvres and a vintage cocktail with every swinger’s admission. Jazz chanteuse Erin Boheme, backed by The No Vacancy Trio, brings the sound of the Roaring ‘20s to life, while one-man-quiz-show Marshall Shore drops all the historical knowledge. Expect that all hep cats and kitties will be dressed to the nines and follow suit.

The Pop-Up Speakeasy: A Return to Cattleman’s Bar takes place on the sly at the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel, 50 East Adams Street. Admission is $30. For reservations, call 602-333-5103 or visit www.phxspeakeasy.eventbrite.com.
