The average American consumes about 4,500 calories and 230 grams of fat on Thanksgiving Day. To get rid of that excess, you could do about 3,000 push-ups or go for a quick five-hour swim. But if you want a fun way to jump-start your turkey burn-off while also supporting a great cause, then spend your Thanksgiving morning with the Arizona Road Racers.

The organization’s Thanksgiving Day Classic features three separate runs: a 10-mile, a 5K, and a one-mile fun run. They start and finish at the Peoria Sports Complex, and runners of any skill level can join. Proceeds from the race will benefit PLAY Peoria, an organization for whom the Arizona Road Racers raised $6,000 for during last year’s Thanksgiving Classic. The Road Racers also are collecting unwrapped toys for the Peoria Pantry at this event.
