Sure, it’s just a Spring Training game, but the San Francisco Giants and the Cincinnati Reds will bring a whole lot of history — nearly 150 years worth — to the diamond at Goodyear Ballpark, 1933 South Ballpark Way, on Monday, March 16, for their Cactus League duel. The Reds haven’t won a World Series in 25 years, and the Giants enter 2015 as the defending champs. But it’s still hard to imagine something more quintessentially American than spending a springtime afternoon sipping some suds and watching these two historic clubs duke it out. You almost owe it to your country to attend a game like this — especially when it’s in your own backyard. First pitch is at 1:05 p.m. Tickets are $10.50 and up. Visit www.cactusleague.com.
