Are you sick of the Where the Wild Things Are craze? We’d by lying if we said we weren’t. So why is it that, in spite of our best efforts, we still like the damn thing? We can’t help it. That children’s book by Maurice Sendak, with its fantastic world of temperamental monsters stemming from the angst-riddled imagination of an emotionally problematic kid, is still intriguing.

See how it all started at “Where the Wild Things Are: Maurice Sendak in His Own Words and Pictures” in TheGallery@theLibrary at the Scottsdale Civic Center Library. The show features facsimile images taken from the original art in the Maurice Sendak Archive. Be sure to bring a little one along, as there are plenty of Sendak-inspired activities for all ages.
