Derrick Rose needs an alarm clock.
A couple of weeks ago, the Chicago Bulls’ star point guard no-showed a scheduled cameo appearance on the CBS drama The Good Wife because he overslept.
The incident is a fitting analogy for Chi-town’s 2010-11 season. A Bulls team that was supposed to contend in the Eastern Conference seems to be taking a power nap, multiplied by 5,000, through the start of the season. Injuries (forward Carlos Boozer has yet to play due to a hand injury) and bad defense have conspired to make Chicago an early-season disappointment.
Rose and the Bulls will have to wake up if they want to leave US Airways Center with a victory. The Phoenix Suns, who will host the Bulls, are again among the league’s scoring leaders. With both teams suffering serious defensive deficiencies, the game figures to be a high-scoring affair.
