A new-ish park on the west side is about to be christened with a whole ‘lotta soul.

The Northwest Black History Committee (NBHC) is hosting its sixteenth annual Multicultural Music Festival and Black History Celebration at Gateway Park, a $4.6 million spot located at 10100 North El Mirage Road in El Mirage. The shindig is no joke, especially this year. That’s because Bobby Rush, Willie Clayton, Chick Rodgers, Carvin Jones, and more will be in the house to perform. There will also be car and motorcycle shows, a hoops tournament, and other fun and games.
