We’re gonna be sick. Not because we’re seeing The Sickie Bunch, the latest collection of sketch comedy from The [sic] Sense, but because the company’s restored the first “e” to its name, and ambiguous Latinate orthographic conventions make us hurl.
The show features two short sets of live offensive music from Scott Gesser instead of an intro — so you can no longer walk in at the last minute in order to escape numbers like “The Obligatory Kickstarter Fundraiser Song.” Fan favorite Kristie Cowles is back among the actors, along with many other damaged and funny people who will express “adult themes.”
The chairs in the Basement Theatre at Phoenix Center for the Arts, 1202 North Third Street, may not be the most comfortable, but you’re probably going to fall out of yours, anyway. Putting your butt in one costs $15 in advance ($12 each for groups of 10 or more booked online) or $20 at the door. The final two performances are Friday and Saturday, March 21 and 22, at 9:30 p.m. Call 602-214-4344, or visit www.thesickiebunch.brownpapertickets.com.
Fridays, Saturdays, 9:30 p.m. Starts: March 7. Continues through March 22, 2014
