It’s still a running joke in “more established” hockey towns: “Phoenix has a hockey team? You mean, like, ice hockey? In the desert? Are there actually hockey fans out there?” Yes, yes, yes, and a resounding yes. The Phoenix Coyotes, in fact, recently celebrated the attendance of the team’s 10 millionth fan since moving to the Valley in 1996. People out here love the Yotes, and so the Yotes are giving some love back by hosting Fan Appreciation Night during the final home game of the season against the Dallas Stars on Sunday, April 13. There’ll be free prizes for everyone in attendance and additional giveaways, sure, but look for the home team to also deliver the gift every fan wants most: a win.

The puck drops on the Coyotes’ Fan Appreciation Night at 6 p.m. Sunday, April 13, at Jobing.com Arena, 9400 West Maryland Avenue in Glendale. Visit www.coyotes.nhl.com or call 480-563-7825 for more.
