It’s theater where not a word is spoken, yet The Hour We Knew Nothing of Each Other, a one-act play featuring more than 400 characters amongst a city-like setting, bustles to the point of seeming downright loud. Austrian playwright Peter Handke offers an outsider’s perspective over the ebb and flow and incongruity of time and people passing through a village square where earlier events unknowingly shape later events for those arriving in the square unaware of what previously transpired. For the audience — the outsider — revelations at the human condition and its actions mount.
The curtain opens at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 3, at Paul V. Galvin Playhouse, 51 East 10th Street in Tempe. General admission tickets are $16; $12 for ASU faculty and staff; $12 for seniors; $8 for students. Visit asuevents.asu.edu/hour-we-knew-nothing-each-other.
