The hardest thing about running actually isn’t the embarrassment of buying nipple tape — it’s the monotony. If running is starting to bore you, we (shamelessly) recommend participating in the New Times Dirty 6 Mud Run on Saturday, May 7.
Get rid of the doldrums while getting down and dirty at this annual trek through the mud and muck, which should accommodate your tastes whether you’re hyper-competitive or just looking to have fun. Taking place at Rawhide Wild Horse Pass, 5700 West North Loop Road in Chandler, the event will feature three- and six-mile courses (as well as a free kids race for the under-14 set) boasting an array of muddy obstacles.
The post-race happenings include a barbecue with plenty of brews, as well as group showers — but not the awkward kind from your junior high days — to allow participants to hose themselves off.
Check-in and packet pick-up is at 7 a.m., and the race follows at 9 a.m.
Sat., May 7, 7 a.m., 2011
