If your New Year’s Resolution is to get out there and run Camelback rather than hiking it or to train for a marathon, Tempe’s Road Runner Sports has just the beginner course for you.

The aptly named Ultra 101 offers a run-down of the basics, from training, racing, equipment, and safety for both trail and ultra running, led by coaching service Racelab and Aravaipa Running, which hosts a number of long-distance runs.

The clinic starts at 6 p.m. on Monday, January 12, at South McClintock Drive. The info session is free for anyone to attend. Visit www.facebook.com/RRSTempe for event details.
