Every morning while out walking our dogs, a group of ultra-skinny guys (and sometimes gals) darts past at a brisk pace. Their speedy run seems like a walk in the park, and, as they aren’t panting helplessly, they’re probably discussing some upcoming running event. Perhaps the race in question is the second leg of Racin’ at the Basin, Scottsdale’s 5-K running series on Saturday, July 21, at the Scottsdale Sports Complex, 8081 East Princess Drive. The race’s two-loop course consists of more than a dozen soccer fields on several elevations, with challenging sections of short, stiff climbs and slippery downhills.
