Each week, Jackalope Ranch brings you a free event, workshop, or you-name-it happening in Phoenix. Because sometimes the best things in life really are free. This week’s freebie: Rainbows Festival Presented by Phoenix Pride
The Rainbows Festival, Phoenix Pride’s second largest LGBTQ (after Phoenix Pride Festival), is happening this weekend October 6 and 7 at Heritage Square Park.
This ever-growing street fair and festival which celebrates the diversity of the LGBTQ community draws a combined total of nearly 150 exhibitors and sponsors as well as over 12,000 attendees- best of all, admission is free.

The two day event, which lasts from 10am to 6pm Saturday and Sunday, will feature a full lineup of food, drink, and of course, entertainment.
Featured acts include: DJ Kela, Desert Overture, Anaya Tribal, Birthday Suit Burlesque, Sisterzz Twisted, Devinography Hip Hop Jam, “Troubador Cafe” starring Kenyata White, DJ Anthony, Dawn Bowman, Tracey Rapp & the Heat, Freddy’s Spotlight @Rainbows, Phoenix Pride Royalty, “Stop Blowin,” Phoenix Heatwave, and Barbara Seville’s Phoenix Phollies.
There will also be a Junior Mr. and Miss Gay Pride Pageant and a Creative Expression Exhibit happening at the OUTdayPHX Stage.
The stage serves as a venue for personal coming out stories in all forms of self-expression (art, dance, music, poetry, etc.) and commemorates National Coming Out Day, which is nationally recognized on October 11th.
