One of the best things about Arizona is that we have a ton of kickass women who’ve led the way in arts, politics, and business (especially in independent ventures and startups). “What It Means To Be American: Women of the West” on Wednesday, January 14, explores the reasons behind the emergence of such strong women.
There couldn’t be two better examples of ambitious Arizona women than former Supreme Justice Sandra Day O’Connor and Anna Maria Chávez, CEO of Girl Scouts USA, who’ll speak with Cheryl Dell, publisher of The Sacramento Bee as moderator. “What It Means To Be American: Women of the West” is at the Heard Museum, 2301 North Central Avenue in Phoenix, and starts at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free.
