You see a minimalist painting that is 5 feet by 4 feet of blank, white canvas and you decide to blow bank on it. Yeah, your friends are gonna have an opinion. Such is the case in ART, a play about three good pals who engage in heated debates about a simple painting that ultimately lead them to question every angle of their friendship.
Local acting talents Walt Pedano, Wade Moran, and Jeffrey J. Davey appear in this dialogue-packed comedy presented by Desert Stage’s Actor’s Café in an intimate 60-seat proscenium-style theater. Written by French novelist and playwright Yasmina Reza and translated by Christopher Hampton, the play won a Molière, a Laurence Olivier, and a Tony (back in 1998 when Sean Connery produced it on Broadway).
