The Farm is something of a hidden time trip tucked away off a narrowing road in the shadow of South Mountain. A long, tree-shaded driveway gives way to a small, working farm, replete with chickens, rows of veggies, a blacksmith forge, and an outdoor restaurant serving up yummy eats featuring that day’s freshest ingredients harvested an arm’s length away. The Farm is also the perfect venue for the Arizona Wine Grower’s Association Festival. The annual event features 30 of Arizona’s top vintners touting their finest. Besides having an opportunity to taste fine wine, sample hors d’oeuvres, and wander the majestic Farm grounds, participants can partake in educational seminars on AZ wine production, history, and the keys to proper wine tasting.

Be ready to swirl from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, November 16, at 6106 South 32nd Street. Tickets are $75; AWGA discounts available. No children will be permitted. Call 623-236-2338 or visit www.azwinefestivalatthefarm.com.

Sat., Nov. 16, 1-5 p.m., 2013
