Like David Bowie and Bing Crosby, The Magic Christmas Tree and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, two movies making up the upcoming double feature this Saturday at Madcap Theaters, prove that sometimes holiday pairings can sometimes be, well, peculiar.
Creepy, made on the cheap, and hilariously awful, 1964’s The Magic Christmas Tree tells the tale of a boy who uses a magic ring, given to him by a witch, to kidnap Santa Claus. It’s an hour’s worth of perverse amusement and quite possibly the worst — and best — holiday movie ever made.
Leatherface is back in the 1986 film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, featuring Dennis Hopper as a whacked-out former Texas marshal hunting a family of cannibals who are terrorizing a radio host in this gory, strangely sick, and “buzz”-worthy cult favorite.
