One recent weekday morning, we checked out Randy Slack’s “Paperless Society” exhibit, which is meant to prompt pure Zen, as every inch of wall space at @Central Gallery is covered in a wallpaper tree forest. Our subconscious-engaged being was violently thrown back to an aggro conscious-awareness when about 100 hormone-icidal eighth graders eighth-graded themselves toward the gallery space. Taking a cue from Slack’s exhibit statement, which reads, “All thoughts are your own; don’t be afraid to experience them,” we thought, “Along with a paperless society, maybe children can be lumped in there, too.” Grrr.
